GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), announces that there will be road closures in connection with the Memorial Service of Officer Gamali Benjamin on Monday, August 8.
Front Street will be closed from Les Escargot alley at 8.30AM to 7.30PM in connection with the aforementioned.
At the end of the service, flowers will be laid at the location on Front Street where Officer Benjamin lost his life.
PHILIPSBURG:--- Board and Staff of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library would like to inform the general public of the library closure on Tuesday 2nd of August 2016 at 12 pm. The staff will be attending the thanks giving service for our beloved library board member Mrs. Chantal Schaminee- Ringeling who passed away last week.
Board and staff members would like to express their deepest sympathies to Chantal’s family and her dearest of friends. We have lost a treasure, a colleague, a board member and a positive spirit. But our grief at this time is small compared to what Chantal’s family must be feeling. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. May her peaceful soul rest in His loving arms in peace.
The Philipsburg Jubilee library will resume its regular opening times on Wednesday 3rd of August, 2016.
In an effort to inform and enlighten the people of Sint Maarten about what is going on in the country, the Sint Maarten Christian Party will be launching its weekly radio broadcast starting Wednesday, July 20th 2016 from 9:00-10:00am on Pearl FM 98.1. The name of the broadcast is "The State of the Nation" and it will be hosted by Peter J. Gittens and Mulrose Toulon-Rogers.
The broadcast will not only highlight issues, problems and challenges that our government and Sint Maarten are facing but will also give the facts and offer solutions. In addition, our radio listeners will be informed as to what the party is doing, and the various sections of the manifesto will be presented and explained as well. The party will also feature experts in the field who will share their knowledge, experience and expertise.
We encourage the entire population of Sint Maarten to listen to THE STATE OF THE NATION radio broadcast by the Sint Maarten Christian Party.
The owner of this dilapidated building is notifying the squatters that has taken up residence in his building to get out of the building as soon as possible. Standford Jermin is also calling on the squatters who crossed the border and is living in his unfit property to remove all vehicles they have parked around the building.
The building is scheduled to be demolished before July 29th. 2016.
All vehicles and other belongings that is inside and around the building when demolition starts will also be disposed of.
